Deep at work ... listening!
Hey!

Every Thursday, I take the bus from school to my speech therapist on the West Side. Last Thursday, I decided to listen to my music en route. I usually don't listen to my music in public, but as I left the house I grabbed my iPod and my neckloop. While sitting on the bus, listening to my music, at least 3 people asked what song I was listening to. After hopping off the bus to get on the subway, a few more people asked. I thought this was really strange, so I decided to do an experiment to see why people were asking me. Below is the experiment:

Hey!

I knew it's a few days too late, but I still want to give a shout out to my mother and tell her, "Happy Mother's Day!" (I do get a pass, since I just finished APs.) My mom (Janice Schacter Lintz) is a true activist/superwoman: she is a strong, amazing woman who helps make museums, theaters, taxis, restaurants, etc. accessible for those who are deaf/hoh.

Well, I know that many of you get frustrated when you go out to the theater: you are tired of not being able to hear the actors. I have received many emails simply asking for tips.  My mom recently wrote an article that explains everything you need to know to be able to hear at the theater. Hey!

So, I found this super cool widget from the government (yep, it's true!) that explains what hearing loss is and all the different symptoms associated with it. Try it out!!!

Sorry for the really short post: it's AP and SAT2 week! :(

BTW, Happy Better Hearing and Speech Month!

Love,
