Who's Your Hero?
What do you want to be when you are older? If you didn’t have a disability, would you have the aspirations? Or would they be greater? People who are deaf/hoh are often told that they cannot accomplish much. The diminished expectations of society lead to people who are deaf/hoh being lesser educated, believing that they cannot get certain jobs and living a more simplistic life. Sometimes the media highlights accomplishments of the deaf/hoh community that would not equally be considered successes in the hearing/non-disabled community.
