If you have been paying attention to latest, newest hip shows on TV, then you most certainly have heard of Switched at Birth. ABC Family's Switched at Birth is a new drama revolving the lives of two teenagers who each recently learned that they were accidently swapped at birth by a nurse and have each grew up with the wrong family. This exciting series stars Vanessa Marano as Bay, a girl who was wrongly placed with an extremely wealthy Kansas family, and Katie LeClerc as Daphne, a girl who was incorrectly given to a struggling single, alcoholic mother. Daphne Vasquez is a smart, stylish girl who lost her hearing as a young child due to meningitis. As a result, she wears hearing aids, signs and attends a school for the deaf.

The actress who plays Daphne is also hard of hearing, a result of Ménière's disease, which is a degenerative, inner ear disorder. Previously starring in Veronica Mars and Fashion House, she has acted since grade school. LeClerc, a native of Texas, graciously gave bf4life-hearing the opportunity to interview her for the website:
